DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE NO MONEY TO CHOOSE FROM!

DO NOT BUY! I bought this lens 3 months ago and was so excited to find a great 400mm lens for under $1000 so I bought it! That was my fault! I had to spend $1000 and buy a new one! So when I got it I took it out of the box and checked that it wasn't damaged and was happy until now until I connected it to my camera and took a picture! Every picture is blurry! I'm not stupid, I know this lens should have a lot of light, but in my example with this lens it doesn't matter. I even took it to a very…

Very important. Can take beautiful pictures of small songbirds.

I use this lens to photograph high-resolution songbirds, which is nice because the optical stabilization allows me to take great pictures at maximum zoom [400mm] while holding it in my hands . The image quality and zoom of this lens are impressive. There are a few minor quibbles though: sometimes the autofocus 'sneaks' around, as others may have mentioned, but usually only on a relatively distant subject. This lens needs a lot of light. Good deal for the price, especially used WAITING! No it's not

UPDATE: I downgraded my rating to 2 stars a long time ago but didn't explain why. I broke this lens a few months after buying it. The second used a Sigma, a Canon mount to do this for me. Won't buy again.===Delivery was quick, no problems, and the rest of the items (bag, a couple of filters) were in good condition. Lens details are still being worked on.
