It definitely does what it says it does. I can move the camera a few inches away from the subject to make the photos look like macros. My only downside is that it has a very limited prime range. This means you lose all of the lens' flexibility except for macro photography. So expect to be shooting right in front of the camera. Also, I can't put the lens cap on this filter. I have to be careful when I have this filter enabled.

Like the other reviewer I find this works on the RX10 IV when the zoom is set to 300mm (equivalent to 35mm) or more. The diopter value is around 1.75, making this the weakest achromatic macro lens I could find. I also have a 3 diopter lens, but it's easier to use, although not as powerful.
