Not a complete solution

This product is a component of a complete DVR system. For everything to work, you need a working and stable wired network. You then need to install applications on different devices to be able to access this product from your TV. The native app is practically useless for anything other than live streaming. And even for that, the user interface is not enough. To replace something like a TiVo, you need at least a fully functional network, a device, a network-connected TV, and a separate place to…

Constant buffering on Plex Live TV

The HDHomeRun app works and streams great. However, the user interface in the app is terribly poor. But when I try to watch via Plex (PMS 1.23.5.4862-7000, on Synology DS220+, DSM 7.0), all HD channels are buffered PERMANENTLY. (SD channels look fine.) I moved the tuner and antenna to the other side of the house, same problem. However, since the HDHomerun app seems to be working fine, I suspect it's an issue with Plex. It seems like a lot of people on the internet have this problem too. I don't

No sound through Plex on ATSC 3

8/23/21 Background: I live in Ann Arbor Michigan we have 4k 4k ATSC 3.0 channels. They operate at different frequencies than their standard HD versions. I use a Plex server to share this tuner with my TVs, cell phones, and Roku computers. My last tuner was a quaHD which worked really well over the winter but once it was all gone the signal on every channel disappeared. One weird thing is that my Fox channel is VHF and not everything else that is UHF. Installing this 4k tuner was very easy…

Don't waste your time and money!

I would only recommend buying the Flex 4k if you don't have any other HDHomeRun tuners. Do not upgrade to this model yet. I only get audio on ATSC 3.0 channels using VLC on my computer, I can't get audio on ATSC 3.0 channels using the HDHomeRun app on my phone, LG Smart TV or Fire TV. It works great with older ATSC 1.0 stations. So if you don't upgrade, you shouldn't have any problems. It's important to note that this isn't the Flex 4k's fault. I don't have a CODEC yet. Also, I couldn't reach…

Good concept but problems

Recently cut the cable. My first try at a local channel was Locast, which I got to use for about three weeks before they shut down shop after a legal battle over their non-commercial status. That was my next try. I was hoping this would work as I missed the option to pause the live stream. I have a 500GB SSD that was plugged into it and recognized fine. But when I connected the antenna that allows my LG CX OLED TV to see 62 channels, it saw 24. The playback was terrible. Also not wireless. My…

Does what it's supposed to do, but needs improvement in some places.

Update: crashed after 2 months. I get an Ethernet cable connection message even though it's already connected. I also swapped out the router to see if that would help, but that didn't help. It's getting a lot hotter now than before, and a lot hotter. ------------ I don't want this to sound like it's not good. because it's not, it's just a very unusual piece of AV electronics with little information floating around, with some strengths and just as many weaknesses. First, the tuner isn't…
