They really are non-stick. My problem is that they hold on to oil you add to the food or oil the food releases as it cooks and I can't wash it off. I tried soaking it in soapy water and applying dish soap directly to the surface to let it sit for a while. nothing has worked yet. At first it always seems clean, then, after drying, oil rises from it. Discomfort after a few uses but I'm still using them.

I bought these thinking they would be a good substitute for parchment paper but they aren't. I'm used to removing baked cookies or buns from the oven and laying them on parchment paper on a cool surface to begin cooling. The suggestion of making a paste of baking soda and lemon juice will remove excess oil or fat. Very hot water with gloves on and a good dish soap works well too.
