Buyer Warning. Good lamp, high failure rate. Spotted guarantee.

I remodeled my house with 40 of these bulbs. They allowed me to switch from CFL to LED without changing the lamp housing. Color and brightness are excellent. However, out of 40, 4 of these bulbs failed me. The manufacturer claims to offer a 5 year warranty and when the first two failed after emailing and answering a few questions they promptly sent me two replacement bulbs. I've had two other failures recently and I feel like they're shaking me. In my opinion, 10% failure in about 2 years isโ€ฆ

Great product, one arrived broken

These are used for cans that have a compact fluorescent coating that sticks straight down. They are quite common in kitchens and bathrooms and are installed in an energy-efficient manner. They are often too dark or just take too long to warm up to their true brightness. That is the answer! They turn on at full brightness. This rating is for 4000k, they also come in 3000k which I think is better suited for residential applications but my client wanted a cooler color than his fluorescent lightsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 50,000 hour lifespan, 5 times longer than CFLs (10,000 hours), 5 year limited warranty
Cons
  • No automatic
