Factory is better LGA 1151 install

I used this heatsink on a Z97/LGA 1151 build Intel I7 4790k, this heatsink allows the CPU to throttle due to heat spikes over 200c. If this is the only heatsink that fits your build, I recommend looking elsewhere. I.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Flat and quiet!

I have an Alienware x51 r2 so there isn't much room for a large CPU heatsink/fan. This one was perfect when the fan that came with the x51 snapped around the screws for some reason. I just installed it and it's a lot quieter than the one that clicked. It's also easy to install. So if someone owns an Alienware x51 or other compact computer like the Alienware x51 and needs a low profile cooler, I recommend that as an option.

Pros
  • Doping ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons

Small, Quiet, Efficient

Excellent thermal performance on my i5-9500T at stock TDP (35W). When idling, around 28 C, it never heats up above 40 C. The assembly system is very simple. The fan is not audible at all except at very high speeds, although even then it is very quiet. I assume it will be cool enough for a 65W CPU. Really great considering he's under an inch tall.

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good base CPU cooler for my NAS

This CPU cooler is a good base unit to keep my CPU running to spec. Installation was very easy and airflow is pretty good. One thing I need to keep an eye on is the quality of the bearings on this fan as my CPO is side mounted and I have yet to purchase a fan whose bearings will not fail when the CPU is mounted vertically. Just take a look!

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Expensive

Not as good as the original

The heatsink is much smaller and does not work as well as the original pedestal type fan. You can easily find a standard fan for around the same price, or even better if you do a little digging. Let it happen.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Negative impression

Decent replacement for stock fan in x51 R2

First I bought a much cheaper fan before but it had plastic clips which wouldn't fit unless I removed the back panel behind the motherboard (where the stock fan was screwed on on). Wouldn't try, even for a $9 fan. I bought this one after another review saying it worked well with my computer. There is no need to mount a back panel as it fits on top of the existing one. Basically you just apply thermal paste to it (tube included) and screw it in. Easy! I haven't noticed any performanceโ€ฆ

  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
