Bought these to put in the garage so the bugs don't swarm and then get into the house. Not correct! Swapped all 4 bulbs for these and the bugs were still swarming with bulbs. They glow quite well and produce a different color, but I think I've set my expectations too high. The lightbulbs are plastic which is pretty cool, they don't break if a kid hits them with something. I still have them. Maybe the bugs are bored.

I have been using yellow glass bulbs for many years and they are very effective - almost 100%. Prevents the bus camera from being triggered near the porch lights and makes it comfortable to sit on the deck at night without an insect storm. Their butt is plastic, but they glow very little yellow, they almost never heat up. The yellow glass definitely gives off heat but still repels insects.

I bought these for indoor use as I'm light sensitive and needed something to brighten my face on zoom calls without giving me a headache. That works great! It's warm enough not to tire your eyes and soft enough to go relatively unnoticed. It adds just the right amount of light for working in a darkened office or reading by the bed.
