Easy to use, requires regular pencils and fewer steps, less mess

I have more expensive "red" anodized squares, both long and short versions. They use 5mm graphite styli and are available in sizes/pitches up to 1/128". I bought this simpler square using regular sharpened pencils with a much smaller pitch for convenience. More accurate squares need to be stopped and checked each time - there are so many of them. small steps This should be easier to use.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some mistakes

Good tool but 1/16 inch off

This marking tool concept was great. But after checking again with some tape measures and vernier calipers, it's off 1/16 inch from the curved part of the tool. This means that to mark on a 1 inch line you actually have to use 1 inch and 1/16 inch marks. The font could have been bigger (god knows there's room for a bigger font). All in all very disappointed with the tool. A few subtle adjustments in its production could have resulted in a neat little marker. Instead, it's almost useless due to…

Better for carpentry than woodworking

Sturdy. It's .046" thick, which is about 20 gauge steel + slightly thicker paint. When used as a T-square to draw a line perpendicular to the edge of the material, it's just as square as a wireframe, so that's good. The holes are precisely spaced and drilled the correct distance from the curved "fence". There are 3 main disadvantages. First, the fact that the fence is simply curved means that it has a small radius inside. This radius prevents sharp-edged material from fully contacting the stop.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
