🏠 Efficiently Purify Your Home with Simply MervFilters 12X12X1 Filter Furnace Review

These filters are not MERV 8. The packaging was labeled MERV 8 so I know I got the right product. They should not be assigned a filter number. They have 7 pleats that offer no particle filtration. They are junk and the same quality as those sold for $1 in chain stores. I am very upset that I paid $25 for 6 of them.

What does not like! The filter corresponds to the price, which must correspond to the quality. They have more surface area (more folds) than I've ever seen in the 16x25 size I'm using. This means they last longer and reduce airflow more slowly as they collect dirt. They are metal reinforced and the cardboard body is criss-crossed to prevent them from warping or collapsing - some things I've seen have been omitted from the branded filters I've used before.

I owe part of my 3 star rating to not reading the filter specs closely enough to determine the "actual size" is 11 3/4 inches. My recirculation grates are recommended at 12" x 12", but are actually 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" or 1/2" smaller than advertised. It is in order. Arrived quickly when needed, very good price, but I wish they were individually wrapped so that dust does not accumulate during storage. I carefully took one out and wrapped the rest in plastic and put them in the shipping box so they wouldn't collect dust. It would be nice if they were individually wrapped. I WAS SURPRISED BY HIS COMMENTS. HE TOLD ME THAT IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO CHANGE THE FILTERS AFTER 1-2 MONTHS AND THAT MORE EXPENSIVE FILTERS WILL INCREASE YOUR HVAC SYSTEM AND THEREFORE SHORT THE LIFE OF YOUR SYSTEM (EG COMPRESSOR). USE A LESS EXPENSIVE FILTER AND SPRAY A LIGHT COAT OF COOKING SPRAYER ON THE FILTER SURFACE TO REMOVE LARGE PARTICLES. I HAVE THIS FROM INSTALLATION AND CHECK OUR SYSTEM EVERY YEAR. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of these filters. Yes these are just basic filters but of strong enough construction including wire mesh and cross braces to prevent excessive flexing and movement in the return chamber/orifice. In addition, the MERV rating is low enough (MERV 8) to avoid unnecessary stress on your FAU/HVAC equipment. One of the worst purchases I've ever made from Revain. The 14 x 14 filter dimensions were not as advertised. The description states that the actual dimensions are 13.75 x 13.75 inches. The six packs I received were barely 13.5 x 13.5. Customs service. Also, 3 out of 6 filters have breaks in the frame. Most were bent and it took me a good 15 minutes to get them back into shape. This was a good find - all the stores in my area stopped selling these filters because they said they were too difficult to stock and keep in stock - some even blamed that Manufacturers didn't send them out and instead decided to sell them at Revain.
