Yes these are just basic filters but of strong enough construction including wire mesh and cross braces to prevent excessive flexing and movement in the return chamber/orifice. In addition, the MERV rating is low enough (MERV 8) to avoid unnecessary stress on your FAU/HVAC equipment. There is a fine line/balance between individual filtration preferences and premature equipment failure. I'm a builder/developer with over 30 years of experience. Filters with a high MERV rating will inevitably damage your gear over time. Don't spend extra money on filters that prematurely deactivate your gear. This is counterproductive and expensive. These filters are all you need. Believe me.
