Simpson Strong Tie FT18250C25 FlipToggle Anchor Review

I tried to fit them - thought it would be easier than Molly's - but couldn't 'fit' them from the back. Both broke trying to install them. I had to resort to old metal bolts.

I bought these to install some floating shelves after seeing my son use a similar brand for shelves in his rented house. They are easy to install, installation video on UTUBE. Seems to hold the shelf brackets but in reality I had 2 of the 25 that broke to begin with and the 2 screws supplied to mount them had slots for the Philips heads which were painted over and unusable hence 3 stars. Quite expensive as not everything was usable.

More than half of the installed anchors fail when bolted. I have used other brands of lever anchors in the past so I expected the same quality from them. What I quickly discovered was that the wing the bolt was attached to would fall into the wall if the bolt was moved towards it. I heard a "click" as the locking ring dislodged the fender on the back wall. I have to give 2 stars because of the high bounce rate.
