Solid brass casting, high quality finish with no burrs, plastic cup fits snugly to brass surface and is flush. Very good run. Slight play in the O-ring. A little bonus is that it fits into the 1-inch internal fitting found on regular whole-house water filters, and it's especially handy in tight spaces. The filter is somewhat natural, but it works in my favor because I'd rather hold the pressure of the water than filter out all the smaller particles that are still filtered out by the filter.

I bought this as a pre filter for the Express Water Whole House filtration system to extend the life of my system. Installation was very easy but as I used your regular Teflon tape to begin with and it leaked once the system was pressurised, so I did a little research and found that the Blue Monster pipe thread sealing tape I used on mine local hardware store felt better immediately and i removed the filter from the system and reinstalled it and there is no more leakage! I was thrilled to be able to add a cleanable pre-filter to my existing well water system. All I wanted was to be able to remove most of the sand and fine grit in front of my 15 micron filter. AFTER 6 months I gave up. I bought it as a pre-filter for a new water softener which I also bought and installed. I know how to work but I had to hire a plumber to install this SpinPure for me. Make sure you install shut-off valves on both sides, otherwise you will have to shut off the water supply and drain all water from the body/top of this filter.
