I use it to chop fruit and veg for my little one. It's way faster than a knife when she's screaming at me. I need food FAST. Nor will I hesitate to let her use it when she reaches the right age.

It's very strong, but you have to aim for the slots for the wires. And I like to slice, turn the egg and slice (2 more times) for a cube effect. It's not the right slicer for that.

I bought this product after trying 2-3 strawberry slicers where the plastic eventually broke. It's too early to tell if this product will last, but the design shows promise. It is more versatile as it can be cut in three ways. Soft strawberries can get stuck, but are easy to remove if you don't cut the wires all the way.

Slicing knives pierce the egg to cut it open, but they don't go all the way through the egg. You have to pull the egg up to cut the bottom of the egg. In addition, it is difficult to clean properly. The egg will get stuck between the pieces and you will have to use a toothpick or the tip of a knife to pry the egg out. A more traditional egg slicer will do.

To sum it up, the material is strong but the cratered part that holds the egg needs a redesign. Doesn't cut cleanly like the egg slices in the picture. The wires don't cut cleanly to the bottom of the egg due to a design flaw that causes part of the egg to tear and then stick to the grate when you pull the wire back. I would not recommend this product if you intend to use it to slice eggs. I haven't tried it with other products yet.

I liked the idea of a multifunctional egg slicer. Slicing hard-boiled eggs into small squares of lettuce is much more difficult with this slicer because you have to carefully match the wire cutters to the base. The egg tends to smudge rather than cut nicely. It works well with strawberries and avocados. Additional slicers are fun and compact. Cleaning is no easier or more difficult than any other egg slicer. As the main reason for buying it as stated above was to cut the eggs this is not true.
