Ineffective and difficult to clean.

Slicing knives pierce the egg to cut it open, but they don't go all the way through the egg. You have to pull the egg up to cut the bottom of the egg. In addition, it is difficult to clean properly. The egg will get stuck between the pieces and you will have to use a toothpick or the tip of a knife to pry the egg out. A more traditional egg slicer will do.
