I have a couple of hats that say they are baggy but don't have much room at the top. THIS hat is a real slouch hat that has enough room for big heads and still has a stoop! The rope is tight but not too heavy. He also has a "cuff" around his face to help keep the hat on his head. You can use the cuff or not. I bought the wine color and it's really deep red but not burgundy. I love this hat!

You know, sometimes there's a style trend (winter!) - and something you want to buy for yourself. So I already have enough winter gear to climb Everest, but nonetheless, this is a REALLY comfortable hat that works (ie keeps the forehead warm)! So I bought this for my wife - we're not young by the way - and she LOVES it! I can't get rid of her unless she's sleeping and I'm walking our dog early in the morning. sooo it's a good buy, bottom line, good buy what you like.
