Good product but will NOT fit 4 " pipes

I pulled everything from our very remote country cottage only to find that I can't install my solar panel because the product details are wrong. The product page and accompanying documents say "".for pipes up to 4" diameter" but the pipe clamps supplied are too small for that! Do you mean circle? How painful. Please correct your ad.

Bad solution

This pole mount consisted of two flat aluminum plates with no reinforcing bends or additional stiffeners. Looks like it was made in a workshop. It offers very little support to the panel, particularly in windy conditions, and depends on the panel's own mechanical strength. I would recommend avoiding this for your expensive solar panel, especially if it's larger.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Requires socket

WORKS PERFECTLY! best in solar and wind energy

I bought a solar panel and bracket at the same time. They are very compatible. The assembly was quite easy. It took me a few minutes to figure out how best to put them together, but once it happened it wasn't difficult and it works fantastic. The instructions for the switch panel were not needed but I had to get closer to see the light flash and tell me how it worked, the instructions for this could have been better. This is a clear level 5.

Works as a wall mount

Mounts on a stand in a docking station to charge the battery. It appears to be well made and should do what it's supposed to do for a 50 watt panel. I used as shown in the pictures (Renogy 50w 12v monocrystalline solar starter kit). The instructions for a pole mount kit were sparse and needed some tweaking, but they were enough to get the job done. It took some drilling on the rear mounting plate as the holes didn't quite line up. Solar Panel Pole Mount Kit One-handed pole mount brackets…

Probably need to buy U-bolts and drill special holes in the panel

Although the statement on the website says "Can be adjusted to fit internal dimensions from 172mm to 540mm (6, 77″ 21.26″), 2.0" to 4.5" rod diameter, what they forgot to say is that you have to buy your own large pipe clamps or U-bolts to make this because the two provided Pipe clamps are too small even for a 2" diameter rod. And it's almost guaranteed that you'll have to drill holes in your solar panel to attach the panel to the bracket. , except for small problems that you should be aware…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Don't really like it, it's ok

Not ready for delivery

This product is not ready for delivery. The mounting holes on the bottom post are misaligned so the bracket is not flush with the backplate that rests on the post. I didn't have a tool to cut a wider hole in the backplate or bracket (thankfully a friend was able to help me). The instructions and pictures are too small to read, there are very few words, it's impossible to decipher the details on the diagrams, and there's absolutely no indication where a couple of lock washers go (because there…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Update: The seller has increased the price of this machine by almost $10, which greatly reduces the overall cost. As far as I know the quality is still high. But there are plenty of competitors in the new price range, and some cheaper devices might be more attractive now. Initial rating: Very impressed. Good price, simple solid construction, quality materials and finish. This little plate mount is much stronger and more secure than I expected. Very easy to assemble and install. Mine currently…
