Description of Sony 10C60HFL 60-Minute HF Cassette Recorders - 10 Brick: Optimal Audio Recording Solution

Sony keeps America's cassette recorders sounding their best. HF High Fidelity normal bias cassettes are great for music and general recording.

Glad you can still get them.

I just needed a cassette to re-record some family records my brother loaned me. The cassette recorder is still occasionally used. Transferring tapes to CDs is quite expensive, but I have a tape deck with the ability to rewrite tapes.

Audio quality: Cassette player and recorder

I have a vintage (read old) car that has a radio/cassette player. Aside from having listened to CDs most of my life, I've found the range and sound of these cassettes to be a bit muted for up-tempo music. They are of average quality for music but great for other uses.

Pros
  • Cassette player and recorder
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Good quality ribbons, low prices.

Having bought a few of these tape recorders I am very happy with the quality of the cassettes. Cassettes are made of fairly fragile transparent plastic; They're not very attractive (like the gray Maxell XL-II cases) and I'm not sure how much abuse they can take without breaking, but I've opened a few to make tape loops and they all fit well together without taking damage. crack/break The tape itself is fairly thin (as I'm used to from 90 minute cassettes) so don't expect crystal clear hi-fi…
