Works great as a media player.

I have a Sony headphone jack plugged into the line in jack on an Onkyo receiver. With the volume set to around "20" on the Sony, the output is about the same as a component CD player. I use higher impedance headphones with the receiver and not the Sony, so this combination works very well. It adds a CD player and a USB player to a simple receiver that supports Bluetooth audio playback, both of which I use.

Don't buy this! in Portable Audio & Video

I bought this "kinda cheap radio" to replace my old Bose Wave! I know there is no comparison. This radio doesn't have a backlight, however, so you can't see the clock, CD or USB track without a flashlight. Then the CD player stopped working after about 1 week and USB stopped working shortly after. Total waste of time and money, luckily it broke well before the return policy came into effect so got my refund with no problems now all I have to do is find a decent radio but without paying bigโ€ฆ

This item is not listed, it is a gray market item marked as sold only in Mexico.

Just received today. Everything is in Spanish and the box is clearly marked for the Mexican market only. Sold as a gray market item in the US. :(. Not sure if this works on American radio frequencies. I'll find out on Christmas day. It's not like I saw the driver pull over and I got up and walked to the door just to to see him throw it through the door and fall to the ground I challenged him to do it he just left, got in his van and drove away.

It was good while it lasted

Sony is (was) a great Brand. I really wish this was the last CD player I bought as I'm still old school about playing physical media. First, it was impossible to figure out how to register the product - every time I tried, the information I provided was rejected. Second, the CD player stopped working 2 weeks after the warranty expired. Coincidence? I think that's why it's difficult to sign up for a warranty because they knew the product could die. When it worked, the small size, portabilityโ€ฆ

Replacement Sony CD Boombox is fine

Recently my longtime Sony CD boombox finally broke. dust (more on that later). I jumped into action immediately: I went to Revain, typed in "Sony CD Boombox" and that brought me to this one. Based on the mostly positive reviews, I didn't hesitate to order it. The "Sony Boombox Personal Audio System ZS-PS50 Portable CD Player" is much more than a CD player, but for me it is the key feature. Upon arrival I took it out of the box and it literally took less than a minute to set up and get up andโ€ฆ
