Great Camera: Digital Cameras

Received the camera this morning and couldn't wait for the battery to charge. Took it to Van Meter State Park and got some quick and interesting outdoor shots. I used a Tamron 18-200 lens and caught geese flying out of the swamp. I used to have a Sony Alpha A100 - no screen, just a frame eyepiece. This takes some getting used to as I looked at the screen and moved to the eyepiece. But the camera worked great! Fast photos with great color depth. Update: Not only a great camera, but also…

Sony a65 DSLR I suggest the 'a' stands for AMAZING!

After months of comparing Sony, Nikon and Canon DSLRs I settled on the Sony a65. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I just bought the body through Revain and Adorama and a Sony 18-250mm zoom lens through Camara, also bought Todd Hanson's Sony A65 Quickpro Camera Guides CD at the suggestion of a reviewer here at Revain. What a combination that turned out to be! With the standard camera and lens, I was able to start shooting right away. The Sony manual and the camera manual on CD together…

SONY HAS IT BACK FOR CAMERA AND PHOTO

I consider myself a beginner in photography, although I've been an amateur photographer for decades. So I wanted a good DSLR (smart) camera that could take good photos and videos without having to worry too much about setup. After extensive research, I chose the Sony A65V for a number of reasons: first, the price has stabilized compared to other cameras on the market with the same features over the past year, second, it supports all my old Minolta lenses, which means that I don't have to spend…

The best camera! Best Camera & Photo

I've been a photographer for over twenty years, first as an amateur in the military and then turned pro ten years ago. The first camera was the Minolta Maxxum 3xi, then the 5D DSLR. Excellent optics and shooting mechanics. When Sony bought out the Minolta range I followed suit and bought an Alpha 350. About three weeks ago I received my latest Sony A65 camera. Pedigrees aside, I've studied reviews and ratings and compared issues I've had with previous camera bodies to determine if it's time to…

Best camera I've ever had

Photography has been my hobby for three years and I have tried several Sony Alpha series cameras. I started with an a330, sold it to upgrade to an a550 and then sold it to upgrade to an a65. I also have a 37. More on that later. I mainly use this camera for concert recordings as live music is another hobby of mine. While the a550 excelled at low-light shots, the a65 pretty much knocks it out of the water in terms of high IS0 shots (typically around 1600) and its ultra-fast 10fps capability…

Very satisfied Sony

I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant when buying a Sony camera. Maybe because I've always known that Nikon and Canon are the brands used by professionals. Well, I'm no pro, but I took basic photography courses in college and I have to say that this camera really is amazing gear. Before buying, I went to the Houston Camera Exchange and compared the Canon 60D to the Sony A65. (Remember I would buy a Canon or possibly a Nikon of similar quality). With the same quality of both lenses, the Sony

Great camera and consider me an EVF converter!

My previous camera was my first DSLR, the Sony A700. I always had to remember that the viewfinder wasn't 100% accurate in terms of framing, but I loved this camera. He has traveled all over the world with me and has served me very well. When I heard about Sony's new prisms and electronic viewfinders, I had my doubts. call me old fashioned I was particularly concerned about how it would perform in low light; for example photographing dance performances. But I recently got an A65 at work and got…

Great camera! Much better than the Canon xsi I had before.

I received the camera body alone, not with so called 'kit lenses' as I would like a better choice of lenses than what comes with the kit. I purchased the following lenses and external flash with this camera: Sony 55-200mm f/4-5.6 SAM DT telephoto zoom lens for Sony Alpha DSLRs Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 standard zoom lens for Sony A-mount cameras Sony 50mm f/ 2.8 Macro Lens for Sony Alpha DSLR Sony HVL-F43AM I didn't buy the Sony Alpha HVL-F43AM flash for the Alpha DSLRI all at once, so I'm still…
