Inexpensive Radio

I bought this primarily for the AM radio range I could take on a walk. Due to the orientation of the built-in AM antenna, it is sometimes necessary to physically reposition the radio while walking. However, for this purpose it works very well and I'm glad I got it. However, I live in Arizona and must wear a sun hat. Headphones are not very comfortable, headphones would be much more useful. I've tried using spare headphones but the headphones also act as an FM antenna and sometimes I prefer FM…

Costs money! The best little radio ever! Sounds like a concert hall.

The best little radio ever! It has a powerful digital tuning system for AM, FM and weather stations that you can lock and change later. Read on to learn how to set your clock and use the AM and FM 2 bands so you can tune to multiple stations. Numeric tuning: This means you just have to scroll through and select the stations instead of tuning them in by a series of numbers. Whether you're using the included headphones, your own, or small external speakers (non-Bluetooth), you'll feel like you're

Basically good. . . best personal radio

Bought 2 of these for an early Mother's Day gift and after a month of use I can say it's a decent product but not without flaws. First, it seems to be solidly built and the buttons give good feedback. A AAA battery keeps it going for a long time - probably more than 50 hours. My non-technical wife had no problem adjusting the presets. The headphones supplied do not match the radio - use the best phones; you will not regret it. I route the cable through a removable belt clip as I tend to snag…

A Thing of Joy best in Radios

I read a few ONE STAR reviews to understand what all the hate is about because so far I think this product is the best that I've ever seen I knew I wanted digital radio. Fumbling with the dial to change stations is awkward and slow, and it feels like you'll never be able to get a station right. This was a REQUIRED feature for me and SONY delivered with flying colors. There are FIVE preset station buttons that make it easy to switch from station to station. Assigning a station to each button is…

Sony SRF-M37W - Honestly 3 1/2 stars

The Sony SRF-M37W is tiny and feature-packed for what it is. What impresses me the most is the weatherband reception, although the headphone cable is used as an antenna. I caught four out of seven NOAA broadcasts and live in a rural area. It's better than many of the scanners I have. Sensitivity is good on AM and FM but selectivity is pretty low, I wouldn't recommend this for city dwellers who want to listen to low power FM stations alongside stronger ones, the same goes for AM. The fidelity is

Small serviceable AM-FM

This is a fairly basic device but it is small and digitally tuned with a range of possible channels and I find it useful. It comes with a pair of headphones, which aren't very good - very tinny. The unit itself has pretty good reception - the headphone cable acts as an antenna - but as with phones it doesn't do much for listening to music - no bass boost or "presence" boost. I use it almost exclusively for interviews on news shows, This American Life, Democracy Now, other talk shows, etc., so…

CCRadio Guy Impresses

I've been using C Crane, Sangean, Grundig and other high quality radios at home for decades. When I decided I needed a Walkman-type radio for my country house, I first looked at premium brands. I found several reviewers who also praised this much more affordable little radio. I decided to give it a try considering the very reasonable price. Obviously 5 stars I am very satisfied. I live in Austin, Texas and I listen to talk radio almost exclusively. There are two AM stations here and two AM…

Great little radio, wish they made one with speaker

I have 3 of these radios, one in my gym bag, one in the car so I can listen to AM when eating alone and the third as a spare. I've learned my lesson about it. A few years ago, Radio Shack made the best small AM/FM radios under their Optimus brand. In particular, they offered the option of presetting stations, and just like in a car, you could call up the desired station with a single push of a button. They had speakers so you didn't have to wear headphones when listening. You can clip the radio
