Pays for itself in one use

I recently discovered that all the phone jacks in my house are wired with CAT5e cables. I immediately ordered materials for resealing so I could implement my house's new superpower. After installing all the cables in the patch panel below, I connected the identification keys to the panel and walked around the house, terminating the other ends and noting which port number belonged to which room. Southwire quality, essential for any tech toolkit

Great tool, helps me quickly identify problems Identify location or spot test Ethernet cables and shields. Including tone generator for tracking. Also comes with 5 ID ports for RJ45 and coax, although I haven't had to track down coax when online yet. Can be expanded with an optional kit to identify up to 20 RJ45 and coax ports, but 5 ports is fine with me. A solid Southwire product to have in your tech toolbox, especially if the guy is connecting some of the offices you serve. like MSP is not…

Highly recommended, has already saved me hours (especially on port covers.

Highly recommended, has already saved me hours (especially on data cables). Minus One star for the cheap stickers on the RJ45 ID remotes (one peeled off after a few days) and the loose RJ45 and RJ11 dust covers that keep coming loose on the move, exposing these ports to the snag (similar to the one on has: removed one of the Butt Sett's quick release hooks and secured it to the rear of the unit with two zip ties afraid of losing it in the field.The terminator block sits firmly in its nest but…
