Spare Tire Brake Light: Plug & Play 3rd 🚗 Brake Light LED Ring Compatible with Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU (2018-2021) Review

I have custom wheels and in order to fit my rear custom/wheel tire I had to install a spacer bracket. Because this light was too thick, I couldn't put the wheel back on the rear mount. I ended up sending it back for a refund.

I had no prior knowledge of removing the spare tire or installing anything like that. Installation took about 1 hour and I spent most of my time rummaging around my husband's garage for the right tools to remove the spare tire. The plug and play feature is convenient and easy to set up. I only needed help when it was necessary to lift the spare tire into place.

I really like the look. Installing the wires and connectors into the third brake light housing is a little more difficult than the instructions say. The instructions show very small plugs. The actual connectors are twice the size and require some adjustments to place them properly in the third brake light housing. After everything is done, everything works great.

The first replacement light was received and the connection to the factory 3rd brake light did not work. It turned out that the box I received had been previously opened and resealed. It is likely that the supplier will recycle returns without inspecting them before re-shipping, but this is pure speculation. The second spare tire lamp worked as expected, time will tell.

None of the connectors worked on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited. Two weeks ago I contacted support at "okyled@outlook.com" and still haven't received a response. Anyway, I had to cut the connector and plug it in. I finally deserved it. When I tried to put my 35" tire / 35" rim back on the tire holder, the brittle plastic tire rim broke. In the end I got it working, but installation was a hassle. I am concerned about longevity and if anything changes I will update.

Nice and clean, individual wires are sheathed. Very good and simple guide. The hardest part, which isn't a production issue, is getting the damn extra connector into the other brake light assembly. Busy there for the amount of space. Very nice view although I will never see it because I drive jeep. However, feel it lights up when I stop. So if you miss it, you probably shouldn't drive. I don't know about the reliability yet as I haven't had it that long.

Slightly tagged as not stock for a smitty built heavy duty tailgate. In fact, the problem is not with the sellers. I adjusted it with some cutting tools and in the end after creating a new hole pattern it matches the stock bracket very nicely which is part of the stock bracket made by Smitty. Another issue is that the connectors they provide don't even match exactly those on the wiring harness and there is no gasket/hole cover. The stock third eye tourniquet cannot be reused.
