Weak. Poor compatibility with towing equipment and winches

Large size, requires handling and tools to install. The outer ring broke in half when I was squeezing it with my hand to fit the hole in the bumper. I ended up just using the smaller shark tooth ring from the kit, but it was also nearly impossible to install myself using some lube and a small screwdriver to bend the tabs. It's probably the same thing GM uses, so I partially blame them for bad design.

Quick and easy.: Tow Bar Accessory

Easy replacement, 2002 GMC Sierra. the open ring runs under the other side. Insert the sprocket in the slots so that the teeth point to the front of the vehicle. Insert the connector tube and tap to lock. You can also use a wooden board and a hammer to hammer on it. Take a step back and admire your work! ❀️

Don't even think about it - just take the OEM part

Very poor fit. It's hard to believe this is still on sale despite the reviews. I was stupid and ignored them (as do others below) because I thought my skills and stamina were better than the average person. I was wrong. The outer ring is just out of spec (Link: I have a 2006 Silverado 1500) and won't fit in the bumper hole. Just go to the dealer and buy the original part or order elsewhere.

DO NOT DO THAT! in External Accessories

PLEASE READ: The outer ring is deformed. It won't close. I read a lot of negative reviews and bought it anyway. Big mistake. Do not buy this item. I found a better solution for attaching the cylinder lock body to the bumper. Drill holes in all corners of the case. Then pierce the bumper and fasten it with rivets. It's easy to do and you'll be happy with the result. Clean and simple. You might still be tempted to buy it because you think it will be different for you. DO NOT DO THAT!

Disappointment delivered to your door!

This product is the best way to spend hours beating up your car. Your neighbors will watch in horror as vulgarity flows like a wide-open fire hydrant, your loved ones will wonder why your hands look like you've been involved in a stabbing, and you yourself will begin to build on your mechanical skills and wits doubt. If this sounds like a good time, then order away. The only way to get this product to work was with a mod and a hammer. I cut the inner clamp and put it inside the outer clamp.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Parts are not original, only the ring with teeth is factory.

First of all, these are not original GM parts, they are Chinese copies. The all-round serrated retaining ring is identical to the original part and works perfectly. The ring that goes into the bumper is not made like the original and does not fit our GMC Yukon, the tabs are wider and not positioned correctly. I suggest keeping your old ring that fits in the bumper and just using a serrated snap ring. I spent at least half an hour putting the ring in the bumper but nothing. I went to the dealer…

The truck body was off when I installed it!

It only took me 3 minutes to install this thing. I read all the negative reviews and bought it anyway because I'm very mechanical by nature. Recently the bodywork was removed and a new bumper fitted. Removing the bed made it even easier. But if I had to do it like most people, it would probably take about 10 minutes to install (but we'll never know for sure). Since the truck bed wasn't installed, I had access to slide the clip into place, which most people don't do. To be honest it took quite a

That will work. Well, 1/2 will be.

Be careful when you buy this. This works well enough if you reuse the outer ring. I cut off the inner ring of the Chinese finger trap at one point and bent the outer ring. I folded it back and mounted it to the new bumper that was already installed. I briefly tried using an outer race but had to adjust it to fit my cheap aftermarket bumper. So I just reused the old outer ring by pressing it right in. Take out the spare wheel, it gives you more space. Better yet, install before installing the…
