So far no problems in cargo carriers

This is hanging on the ladder at the back of my van. I wish the opening was a bit wider to more elegantly accommodate a grocery bag full of junk, but so far it's been great. I wish they were a color other than brown.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Negative impression

Inexpensive load bearing buckles

The buckles broke on first use. Tried screwing it to the tires and both came loose leaving the bag useless. I understand it's cheaper than Thrasharu. But if you need to buy new buckles now, then it's almost the same price. In this case, it is easier to buy scrap from the start than to save on it.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Useless features

Easily add space

Works great. Make sure to run it through the spokes on the rim and not like a backpack over the tire like I tried initially. The buckles are the weak link in the chain, but if they're not pulled, I order them tightened, they'll work just fine. I can fit my little igloo-sized six-pack cooler in there along with beach towels and other goodies.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Cheap Fasttech buckles

One of the main Fasttech buckles broke during installation. It happened during a simple tug on the strap to release the bag, resulting in the bag breaking. The bag looks good, but I can't go off-road with buckles that break during installation. I think a few extra cents spent on stronger buckles would make this a pretty solid product. I'm sending mine back.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Much more durable than expected.

We left the day it arrived on the (previously weekly) trip. I used a small safety wire as I can't read the instructions and make it more secure. The initial installation is already super and needed no cable. Already covered over 1,000 miles and completed Broken Arrow and Point Sublime (pictured). Really great product and several people on the trails asked where I got it from.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • not reliable

Worked great - Cargo Management

Just used it at Millers Jeep and Camping for 2 days. I crossed the straps on the back of the spare, worked great. Firewood on the way up and rubbish on the way back. I haven't had any issues with the clamps but they give you an extra 2 just in case. Would have given 5 stars but only used it once. Maybe a little more, but after 2 days I still had room for more junk. Well made, looks very solid.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

So far so good: Handling loads

This off-road gear bag replaces my 2-year-old duster after it saw a major crack after heavy use. It's smaller than the Thrasharu and the buckles aren't as strong. However, the material of the bag seems to be thicker and after immediately taking it on a hike with lots of dust and debris, it held up perfectly. The zipper still works, fits the spare tire securely, and holds more dirt than expected.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Some issues

It's great to have some extra gear

I'm traveling in my van and am preparing to transition to a full time van living with two large dogs. The only thing I keep struggling with is where to store their food. The big bags of dog food are so bulky, but I have to use the big bag. These guys know how to eat and are always active. This spare tire bag is a huge space saver. I throw in a big bag of dog food and we're ready for any adventure!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • New competitors

Great bag for your money.

I bought this bag after reading some reviews about a slightly more expensive Trasharoo that wasn't any more durable. The buckles are cheap and break easily, but are also easy to replace. If you can get this bag (or you can, as they're still not available), I'd recommend getting a small pack of 2" spare buckles in case you damage them. The bag itself makes a pretty solid impression as far as the material is concerned. I didn't take firewood with me, I usually took out the garbage after camping…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Negative gift
