    Good product for hood pins

    The price is right and the quality is higher than I expected. I would recommend this as an inexpensive yet reliable hood bolt kit.

    These torsion pins are of poor quality

    Pins and bolts work well. I like metal plates because they protect the hood, but they are very thin and scratch easily. The pins are where he loses the stars. The torsion piece doesn't close properly, constantly popping out of the holes. I would recommend cotter pin style hood pins (I replaced the torsion pins with them and like them a lot better).

    Great inexpensive set of hood rivets.

    Simply great for the price. However, the screws were too short. I could probably use a different mount if needed. In retrospect, I can say that the pin holder cables should have been part of my order. I didn't use screws to attach the round plate to the hood. I used rivets instead because I think they are more secure and look better. I also sprayed primer where bare metal was exposed as this is necessary to prevent unsightly rust.     Cheap, poor quality and will cost more in the long run! Avoid at all costs!

    These things are terrible. After about 3-4 uses one of my pins broke. I contacted Amazon and received a replacement within a few days. Put in new clips and ride for 15-20 minutes. I get to work and notice that one of the pins is missing! Imagine if they both shattered and my hood shattered. I wouldn't trust them for a 1 mile drive. Luckily, when the pen fell off, it didn't seem to ruin my two week painting of my Camaro! Please take my advice and stick to "safety pin" style. Slightly larger but…

    I can't win on price, but it's not hard to win on quality.

    These were my favorite bonnet pins until I finally bit the bullet and bought some great Sparco bonnet pins with retainer. The problem with Specter hood pins is that the small cross pin is weak and tends to rattle. Cross pins almost always bend or shear when a race car is involved in an accident. Once the cross pin bends even a little, the locking ring is no longer doing its job and it's only a matter of time before it settles on the rail.
