The thread is good, but it doesn't sit "flush". The bottom section will expand as it hits the base and will continue to expand as you thread it further down.

Didn't even last a year. I was driving down the freeway and noticed my radio was having trouble picking up a signal - then I noticed the antenna was just swaying in the wind - it broke at the base, normal use, no abuse.

I bought this because the antenna that came with the truck was too high and hit the ceiling. It's the perfect height and I was quite skeptical that the radio would be as clear as it was with the original antenna, and it really is!

I have ordered two for both Ford trucks. The year 2010 we now have more information on the radio. The 2019 model works just as well as the production model ie Siriux, GPS etc. The 10's antennas broke at the car wash and I just replaced the 19's. Others at work had their antennas and fenders damaged at a car wash, so I had two.

This antenna was purchased due to car wash problems with a full size whip antenna installed on the car. After about two weeks of using the antenna I see no difference in performance on AM and FM signals compared to the factory installed antenna. As there were no instructions/manuals supplied with this new antenna I simply "tightened" the antenna by hand to avoid damaging the antenna.

I bought this antenna to replace the standard antenna (long whip) that came with my Ford F150, mainly to prevent the standard antenna from scratching the garage door every time I drive in or out and so I can drive the truck to the car wash if I want. The first product I bought had a different thread pattern, I should have bought this one first! The only reason I didn't give it a five is because I live in a rural mountainous area, listen to certain sports and talk a lot.
