🌀 Scratch Shimmer Spirograph 1035Z Review

I bought it as a gift for my 5 year old grandson, he likes it a lot! At first he found some of the templates a bit difficult to use, but after some practice he got the hang of it. There were different sizes of stationery, but you can always use the templates with colored pencils or pens on plain paper. I recommend keeping small parts together in a box or other storage container, otherwise they may get lost. Always a fun thing after school.

The box says "Original", but that's far from the mark. The hand depicted on the wheel is deceptively smaller than the actual hand unless it is a very young child. Scratch and shimmer paper "shows as if it were 8.5" x 11" but again they are very small in comparison. I bought this for my grandson who used it once, thanks politely and never went back to it. I tried it to see for myself and was so upset I threw it in the trash.

When I ordered I didn't realize it was a shimmery and shiny kit. Although we thought it would be more fun if we opened it up. Unfortunately it isn't. The shimmering and iridescent patterns are covered with a black scratch. The black scratch will interfere with the pencil and curl when scratched. It is very difficult even for an adult to clean even spirals on black decal paper. We switched to regular paper and pencil and the spiral sets worked sooo much better!
