Best device I have ever used for land navigation. My military compass is no match for this handy tool. I will recommend this to all my extreme friends.

This compass is durable and of excellent quality and I highly recommend it. The carrying case is also of excellent quality. Does everything you could want in a compass. 69-year-old former commander.

Definitely lighter than the last one I had. The body appears to be made of durable plastic. Comes with a quick release lanyard. But the tripod thread is apparently metric, definitely not the standard 1/4-20. Unless you plan on using it on a tripod or monopod, it's otherwise a decent compass.

Well at first glance this looks like a great compass and it could be. The instructions appear to be in .8 font and are written in light gray on white paper and if we need a magnifying glass and bright light to make any sense at all. I'm not going to give up though, I just want the instructions to be legible. I hope one day I can get on the site and find out because I really wanted a compass like this and I hope it works.

I took this compass with me on a short weekend trip through the countryside and although I depend on GPS my military experience usually includes a map and compass. Looked good as described, looked decent on arrival. When using lensed military compasses, I was surprised that they looked and felt so sturdy. However, I bought it used and the lower glass part was broken. I suspect that was why it was returned the first time, and Revane overlooked a mistake that could have resulted in injury - a broken, sharp piece of glass! I have had many compasses so it is easy to compare this compass to many others but there really is no comparison. This compass left all other compasses in the dust. Very accurate and very quick to navigate. Very well made, solid construction, easy to read etc. Without a doubt this is the best, best compass I have ever had, including my standard USMC compass. Cheap. Not long. I do not recommend it. I bought this as a gift for my son who loves to explore. As always, read reviews before purchasing.
