A carafe of water (charge) and clogged does not sit tightly on the Mauerlat - it staggers! watch the video Was that intentional and if so, why? I mentioned this in some of the one star reviews and thought no way - the customer is exaggerating or doing something wrong. If I've only gotten a bad one then I change it and if that's the norm - it's on purpose then it comes back!

Not very good. After owning a version from Walmart for years, it's finally time for a new one. This one had many good reviews although some low star reviews mentioned it wobbled on its base which has been debunked by other reviewers but let me say now that I have experience mine never sits firmly on its base it is very unsatisfactory to put it there and it appears to be broken or about to break. It's been over a month and it's still working fine, just wish it was more robust.

Replaces another brand of similar design (and price) also bought from Revain which has expired after two years x5+/day. Simple, elegant, BPA-free, easy to clean, quiet and heats up quickly.
