It's Cheap, And You Get What You Pay For

For starters, it doesn't sit flat on the counter when it is opened. The two halves are poorly aligned, so if one side is sitting flat the other side is angled up. Pushing both sides down flat will break the rivets that try to hold it together. And speaking of that, it's flimsy. Not just in the hands of a gorilla such as myself, but even my wife commented that it wouldn't take much to bend or deform it.They include a small card that has "happy pictures of dogs" on it-apparently that is supposed…

Pros
  • Good product! Easy to use and clean.
Cons
  • Ok

Works as advertised.

This little Empanada maker does what it advertises - BUT you have to know a few things too, or you will walk away frustrated. For instance, before you fold your dough over, make sure you LIGHTLY moisten the edges as this helps the dough to stick together. Fun to use, make up your own filling ideas, create and enjoy! However, beware that this product is somewhat flimsy. It's made of very thin metal, and the hinge points appear to be the place that will fail. Use with care and it will probably…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • It’s okay.

It works & that’s about it.

While made of good materials, its design & workmanship are shoddy. Ir IS functional, but represents a lack of interest by manufacture in goid design.

Pros
  • I used it the first time to make apple turnovers; worked perfect.
Cons
  • Tacky and flimsy

Have Not used it Yet

Arrived yesterday. Bigger than I expected might use it to make Calzones! Very sturdy and should hold alot of stuffing! That's my review!

Pros
  • Great for shaping my empanadas, but reduced 1 star because the mold don't seal the dough when pressed.
Cons
  • Need an additional, larger cutter for dough. Does not seal dough. You must pinch edges to seal

How to use the product

I really like this because i was easy for me to make the empanadas at least more easy than to do it with your hands Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Good quality
Cons
  • The product is not versatile and can only be used for making empanadas, limiting its usefulness in the kitchen

Not good enough good for me

As you can see, I should've listened to the top review. The item isn't aligned properly and as a result it won't make a clean cut. Not to mention the fact that it's a bit too flimsy and expensive for what it is. It's also slightly too small.

Pros
  • This was my first time making empanadas but this made it so easy!
Cons
  • The dough cutter circle can easily become bent or deformed, affecting its ability to cut dough

How easy and sturdy it was. Better than my plastic one.

I love this i made 20 crab meat empanadas and it was very sturdy and easy to use. It held beautifully with me have to press real hard to close the dough. Thank you it was worth it.

Pros
  • Have tried the plastic version of this item, this one works better for me
Cons
  • The empanada maker press is too expensive for what it offers

Impressive. in my review

Very simple tool I expected it to be more heavy it just requires a nice firm push down to form the waves in empanadas! I am ordering 2 more today!

Pros
  • It’s good
Cons
  • Pretty flimsy and even tho it says "large" it is still pretty small and doesn't hold alot

Metal missing good for me

Haven't used it yet, but there's a piece of metal missing. It may still work, but I'm afraid rusting will occur. I'll report back.Update: the back side doesn't line up as another reviewer stated so you have to really rock back and forth to get a decent cut. It's a lot lighter than it looks and therefore feels cheaper. It doesn't seem to be all stainless steel like described, only plated in some kind of stainless appearance and you can see by the chip in front. I'll be returning. No room for…

Pros
  • Can't wait to use it for pates.
Cons
  • The edges of the press are too sharp, making it easy to accidentally cut yourself

Great product so far!

So far, I am satisfied with my pocket pie maker which is what I'm using it for! It took a few tries to figure out how to use it, but I finally got it! I'm giving just 4 stars because I've only used it a couple of times & I want to see how it holds up with many uses!

Pros
  • speed of delivery. I am giving it as a gift. Looks like it will be a good gift.
Cons
  • I made small fliskikla and I tried to crimp them and they kept busting at the seam.

Great company - my new review

It worked great! I had an issue with mine after the warranty date, but the company resolved it and replaced it for me. Recommended this product and seller.

Pros
  • Very easy to make fruit or meat pies!
Cons
  • no cierra bien la masa de empanadas.

Not practical, inaccurate product description.

The product titles 6 inch empanadas however, its diameter is 7.5". It also says you can cut your dough with the circle below which is 6" so that's completely useless. I even bought an 8" dough cutter, it still wasn't enough (due to the concave curvature).

Pros
  • Handles will break off easily. Cleans up well though.
Cons
  • The empanada maker press is difficult to operate, requiring a lot of strength and pressure

Great for Pastry Doughs

Mine arrived undamaged and to apparent specifications. As with any surface, I recommend a slight dusting of flour prior to inserting the dough disk. I found that keeping the press flat on the work table and applying downward pressure on the TOP, rather than the handle, results in an evenly sealed hand pie. With proper use, it functions perfectly and is a great gift for bakers in the family.

Pros
  • It is very nice but it’s larger than I expected. If you need one this size, it’s a great buy.
Cons
  • The empanada maker press is difficult to clean, as food often gets stuck in the crevices

UNEVEN PRODUCT. for my opinion

This was so poor. Unable to cut the dough because the cutter wasn’t lined up correctly. One side wasn’t flat in the surface. Needed this for an event and had to opt for a plastic lid which did a better job.

Pros
  • This is great for making any kinds of pies .
Cons
  • The empanada maker press is not suitable for making small or mini empanadas

Not easy to use in my review

The product is study however the size of disc we normally purchase is a little smaller than this. it took so long to stretch the dough i just decided to do them by hand. A waste of money. It may work for someone who has time to stretch the dough or use large disc.

Pros
  • I’m very happy with this purchase
Cons
  • The design of the product is outdated and not very aesthetically pleasing

Works great for pasties

Advice: If using the bottom as the cutter, flatten the dough a bit more before putting it into the "squisher" side in order to get enough of a "lip" to seal. I found that using a cooking spray on the fluted edge before closing made getting the pasties out easier. A slightly thicker dough held the filling in better. This works better than my plastic hand pie makers.

Pros
  • a little cheap made not HD
Cons
  • Product works well but the quality is not great
