Both thermometers read about 10 degrees Fahrenheit at 212F and 350F. Metal clips for holding thermometers work well for frying.

Lots of tipping with a standard pan which can be dangerous when working with hot oil. The resulting clip does not match the image.

Both seem to have a temperature drop. Cooler than what you read. It's bad when you need to be precise, like making cheese or candy.

I need a food thermometer and they are great! They are accurate and get the job done. They're also long, so when we're frying something big, they come in very handy.

The clamp is useless unless you have unusually thick pans. I have a Cuisinart pan with contoured edges and it doesn't hold a thermometer. I purchased this pair of 190F water bath thermometers from my store. The temperature is not particularly critical, but I must avoid boiling. When I tested these thermometers in boiling water, they both read about 7°F (i.e. boiling water read 205°F). However, this difference is easily explained by the difference in altitude and air pressure between where they are made and where I use them.
