Enhanced Performance PC618 Camshaft Position Sensor by Standard Motor Products Review

My ECM reported code p1362 (No signal at TDC sensor). I bought this part, reset the computer and now the code readers are showing Codes 0. Camshaft Position Sensor is TDC sensor for 2001 Honda Civic at least.

Honda OEM sensor. Works the same for half the price. Edit: lasted about 50,000 miles. The sensor is not OEM in the box like I thought. Instead I bought an OEM. See picture: This part is for sale on the left. Proper OEM Honda. Spend a little more OEM money to last 100,000 miles.

This camshaft position sensor has failed after only 1.5 months of use! I installed it in my 2002 Honda Civic LX and it worked for 1.5 months after which the car gave code P1361 and shut down the car. I had to get a new part and install it. I would like to return this part but it seems I have no choice. I can only recommend this part! Too much hassle to replace every month or so!

The engine light no longer comes on immediately after starting. Works well with no problems after 60 miles (so far). After removing the bolts, I carefully lifted the valve cover about 1/4" to the right and completed the installation without a new valve cover gasket. I did not have to remove any major components to do this. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable first pinch off. And work slowly. You can do this in under an hour without removing much.
