Fits just like the original

Matches the rust pile in my '68 Malibu just the same. It worked great for me and solved my overcharging problem. I highly recommend this product as it is $60 cheaper than an OEM replacement, is OEM looking enough and performs on par with OEM parts. If you're still running a DN-style alternator in your car, you should seriously consider getting one. This takes the guesswork out of your charging system.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Quality

So far better than the useless $70 Delco AC regulator

This is a solid state regulator that has no sticky points and causes a lot of problems like the Delco AC that I bought a year and a half ago ordered years. . Time will tell. The AC Delco case is a perfect match for this cheap little device. You simply drill out the rivets and put the screws back into the base to hold the Delco AC cover if you want it to look more like the original cover. hope it lasts The voltage regulator is much lighter than the standard.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great solid state replacement for the original Delco mechanical voltage regulator on my 1965 Corvette. Has the same connectors, form factor, and screw holes, so it's a drop-in replacement. You can even remove the cover from the original Delco regulator and put it on. But a judge at a car show might determine that it's not original, even with a Delco cover, because the side connector for the RFI capacitor has been moved 1/4 inch from the Delco position.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Modern

Direct replacement for Vista Cruiser '72

I experienced some fogging of the interior and exterior lights when idling, as well as general dimming of my lights. After pulling out my old unit, which was a 50 year old original that eventually failed and left me stuck, I installed it. I didn't need a seat belt adapter or anything - it bolted right on as a direct replacement. My headlights quadrupled in brightness, I no longer dimmed at idle and my van felt like a completely different car after seeing how bright the entire interior was…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Surprised to see a car that needs one of these

I get a lot of old cars that come into the shop for maintenance and repairs. A 1969 Chevy Camaro resto mod arrived and its charging system was still set to power one of them. Typically, most owners simply switch to a high current, 1-wire setup, bypassing or eliminating the external voltage regulator. He was still in that car. It's worth noting that this device I'm reviewing replaces the exact same thing. Solid state but didn't look that old. In the future I will find out if the money was spent…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Repair
