Works well but hard to block

I've been using it for about a month but still don't understand how to block it. Eventually I get it to block, but I have no idea what I'm doing to get it blocked. Easy to unlock! My gas mileage hasn't decreased at all (there have been concerns about evaporation if it doesn't seal properly, but it doesn't appear to be). In general I am very satisfied. Maybe over time I'll figure out how to block it on the first try. There were no instructions included.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

It works and fits - Replacement Parts

New Works like waiting to replace an identical 11 year old cap. A starry chime, because new and old are one and the same. I've had OEM covers for the past 15 years with no problems (cause of the chime) but needed a locking cap as my truck doesn't have a lockable gas door. time (the cap is screwed on until it clicks after filling) and caused CEL about two years ago. Recently, the lock cylinder began to move away from the cover when unlocking. As such, its strength and durability aren't as good…

Weak but will fit and work on a 2006 Toyota Tacoma

God knows why Toyota didn't put a gas cap on the 2nd generation Tacoma. This stant lock gas cap fits my 2006 Toyota Tacoma perfectly and had no problems no check engine light etc. To make sure it was tamper proof I tried to gently unlock the locking mechanism with a paper clip and then a small screwdriver. . None of them worked. I've also tried pressing firmly on the cap and unscrewing it (some say it will work) but it hasn't come loose. Apparently it only unlocks with one key, so I'm happy…

Disposable Gas Cap Key

I bought a durable gas cap for my old truck. It had a reversible key with teeth on either side, so I could just pop it in without figuring out which way it was supposed to go. This one with prongs on one side should only go in one direction. That means when it's dark it'll be a guessing game, 50/50 I thought. The key can be removed after unlocking, I had one that I couldn't. Imagine if trying to turn the key cap by turning the cap and key ring at the same time was painful. I took a file and cut

My gas is hard to steal

So far so good. I have a 4runner 09 and this generation 4runner tends to have the gas cap leaking air causing the dashboard light to go off and on. After adding wd40 to the OEM gas cap gaskets for a temporary fix, I decided to buy a new gas cap. why spend money on another regular gas tank? Why not buy one with a locking function? The gas cap opens with a switch in the car, which already protects me from theft, but the lockable gas cap is just an additional protection. Even though the gas cap…

Working but different from other caps

When I first put the key in I thought the cap must be defective because I couldn't turn the cap freely and the key didn't turn very far . With a little force I finally got it ok. It doesn't work quite as I expected. How it works: The only function of the key is to snap the lid open so the cap can be removed. The key only turns about 1/3 turn counter-clockwise and doesn't feel like a regular lock, more like something is stuck in the cover. The cover can now be unscrewed. No key is required to…
