USED FOR: A Combination Square is a measurement tool with 2 straight edges set at right angles to each other. It’s used by carpenters & machinists for checking angles on materials before cutting or for locating center holes. STUDENT SIZE: A rugged, cast iron square head that will outlast cheap plastic and die-cast imitations. It’s 6” size is designed for kids and apprentices to use in school and training settings. STANDARD HEAD: Measures precise 90 degree angles with its accurate, hardened and tempered square blade. FEATURES: This model combination square has a reversible lock bolt that allows the blade to be turned over or end-for-end so that all four graduated edges may be used. GRADUATION: Has a Type 4R graduation with quick readings for 1/8", 1/16", 1/32", 1/64".

Versatile and Accurate Square

After I put it to the test on multiple woodworking projects, I can confidently say this square is a must-have in any carpenter's toolkit. The clear markings make precise measurements effortless, and the durable construction ensures long-lasting use. The only con is that it may be a bit heavy for some users. Nonetheless, this square is a great investment and worth every penny.

High Quality Solid and substantial.

Square! Not all squares are really square! This is very accurate, precision-made. yes it is expensive But quality often. I will be buying 12 from Starrett in the near future to fit.

Best Quality at Carpentry Squares

The quality of the item I received has not been tested well and I doubt it is from the USA. The shoulder and anvil had sharp edges and I removed them after a few passes of sandpaper. Second, the ridge on the guide that guides the ruler protrudes towards the anvil that grips the workpiece - see attached image. It was very frustrating. I'm trying to break it manually with a center punch; without a hammer, but it's quite difficult. So I decided to carefully grind the anvil in the glass plate…
