Starrett expects you to add 3 inches to your metric measurements - that's crazy

When measuring inside dimensions, add a tape measure embossed on the side. This is a metric tape measure only, but Starrett expects you to add 3 inches to your metric measurement. Makes this band unusable for internal measurements.

Disappointing accuracy

I wanted to like this tape measure. It feels good in hand and the lock controls feel solid. However, this is all good. I have a very precise scale and at 30mm the tape is already offset by 1mm. This error has something to do with the hook as it doesn't match the inside and outside measurements. This doesn't make much of a difference for rough measurements, but the purpose of this tape was to provide very high accuracy for fine carpentry work. Wrong item - ordered metric, received UK. But here's a review compared to Milwaukee

It's not Starrett's fault Revain shipped the wrong item. It looks nice, but that's what most plastic and rubber measuring tapes look like these days. The clip is crooked, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. The lock is made of rubber and requires more force to lock than most. Contrary to other reviews, mine is a latch (no latch). Only 3 hook rivets. The distance is only written above - below is empty. The label is made of rubber with a very nice embossing. Compared to Milwaukee…
