🔌 StarTech.com USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet NIC Network Adapter - High Speed USB to Ethernet LAN Adapter - USB to RJ45 (USB31000NDS) Review

I've tried it on 4 Macs (different OS versions) and it didn't work on any of them. Works great on Windows machines I've tested it on, but that's not what I bought it for. This also didn't work on any iPad (via the camera USB adapter, which works with every other USB network adapter I've tried).

I used this USB to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (with OTG adapter) to replace the standard Ethernet adapter to replace the one that comes with the Revain Fire TV Cube. Although its speed is limited by the USB 2 interface, it's still three times faster than the Revain proprietary Ethernet adapter that comes with the Revain Fire TV Cube.

It's definitely faster than using USB 2.0 or fancy Wi-Fi. I have strong connections that continue to work except when the network itself is dead.

This is an amazing device. I bought it because my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port. Connected to a USB 3.0 port on my laptop, I get gigabit transfer speeds. This allows me to back up files to the NAS three times faster than 5G Wi-Fi. It's recognized right away, my laptop automatically uses the faster ethernet, and I'd like to point out that it doesn't get hot like some adapters do after a while. You need the software from the Startech website update but this is the MOST RELIABLE solution due to the lack of an ethernet portal on the macbook since 2013. It counteracts the pervasive trend of forcing you to use wireless yes thank you so much for this solid ethernet device and software, the USB 3.0 converts to an ethernet port (rather than just a key making you think the ethernet is connecting - the keys are awful, Startech is AWESOME!

The Ethernet slot on my motherboard is defective. So I needed something that was USB to restore internet access. Built-in Ethernet was. Must come with installation software. Although for me personally it was just plug and play on Windows 10. It worked without installing a driver.
