Starter TECUMSEH HHM80 190012 190013C 72403600 Review

This is great and at a great price. It will save my broken shoulder. Starts immediately with the starter. I had to drill out one of the mounting holes to insert the final screw. No problem. This should not fit my JD 826D. I checked all the parameters and they were all the same as the model he showed for 826. It was a good fit. It's 33329, but 33328 should match the 826D. I can't tell any difference except that the price is about 40% lower.

I had to bend the "forked" tabs to get the starter to work. It installs easily on my Tecumseh HMSK80. When I pushed the start switch, I heard a loud grinding noise where the starter gear meshed with the flywheel. After spending a lot of time troubleshooting, I found a YouTube video that suggested bending the tabs at the top of the starter. They didn't have the same angle as the original. Purchased to replace an old starter motor that no longer works on a vintage Ariens snow thrower. It was the right replacement. Installation was easy as everything fitted together. After installation, connect the power cord and press the button. The starter engaged and cranked the engine normally. Unfortunately it was one and done.
