Pushes my 38 pound 3 year old face down in the water. She can swim but we needed a jacket for our boat. Even if she tries to swim without moving, she turns around and puts her face in the water! Glad I took them to the pool to test before my boat trip! It would kill her if she fell out of the boat!

My daughter loves pink and is comfortable in the water and on land. I wanted a life jacket, not floats, to teach her how to swim. Stallquist is Type II in Canada and keeps his head above water. He turns her face up when she's not moving. So I believe it's safe for coastal sailing. Deduct ½ star for discoloration, small purple stains on pink after handwashing with Tide.

I like that this jacket can hold the weight for two and a half years, which is a big kid. I love that it has a floating head to keep the face up. Very easy to put on, the zip is very useful and the chest straps took a while to get tight enough when I first put them on, but afterwards as long as you have the strength in your hands and arms you can leave them adjusted on in the right place and simply open and close the jacket and it's ready for the next use.
