A glass jar exploded out of nowhere into a million pieces of glass. Luckily, me and my assistant were not near the container when this happened. It looked like a shot. I'm so thankful my students weren't in the office either. I will contact the company for a full refund.

Seriously. One of them, neatly tucked away in my kitchen cupboard, exploded! I woke up this morning to find millions of large and small pieces of glass in my closet. I did a little research. This occurs when the glass is of poor quality or improperly manufactured. I hope my money will be refunded. I'm not interested in keeping the other two containers for fear they will suffer the same demise.

Upgrade: Downgraded to one star as both caps are now completely useless after only two months of light use. If I can find rectangular silicone stretch lids I might be able to salvage the set, but otherwise it's a waste of money. I like the size and shape of the containers. Lid. Well, it's like wrestling with an oiled alligator and trying to get all four bolts to click. Just when you think you have it, you don't have it.

SECOND REVIEW After I wrote my review without asking they replied and asked if I a full refund or a new set. I decided to buy a new set, so far none of the lids have broken. FIRST REVIEW First time using this and boom this thing is breaking how come on. The glass part seems to be a nice size, this medium size holds 3 large containers of strawberries, but the lid seemed cheap or the snap parts didn't fit.

Updated! The company contacted me and provided the kit free of charge. I was in the process of returning to Amazon so I now have two sets which arrived undamaged and work great. Would recommend and have updated my rating to a 5. I was trying to upgrade to glass storage jars and was very happy to receive this set but the largest jar arrived with a broken lid. When I unpacked it I found it packaged really well but one of the latches on the lid was completely broken halfway through and it caved in
