As a hairdresser I was very pleased with this product. I tried it on my husband who has a very thick and coarse gray beard. It heats up very quickly and the swivel cord is key. It took a few swipes to really notice the smoother beard. I found the texture of my husband's facial hair didn't "completely" smooth it out and made it super smooth like the picture on the box. It looked a little more frizzy and disheveled than it did at first. I would recommend this for people with finer and less coarse

Works well. I straighten my beard fairly easily on the 265 setting, so I've never used a glove. Easy to use, buttons are protected from accidental presses. The only reason I don't give this unit five stars is that it's almost impossible to clean. Over time, the plastic bristles pick up debris and hair that smells awful as the brush heats up and burns. 45 minutes to an hour with tweezers fixes everything, but it's a bit annoying. The first photo shows the difference between half done and half not right after the shower. I have a beard that can only be described as thick and fluffy. In less than 5 minutes it's straight and under control. The touch on the skin is warm, but the dose does not burn. Best purchase I've made this year! This was done at 450 degrees.

I bought this for my fiancé and his long beard. It's easy to use and only the plate, which is deep in the bristles, is heated so you don't burn your face or hands. I think it makes his beard look fuller and smoother. He really didn't notice the difference. I like it. He is indifferent. If you already have an iron in the house, just use it and you will get the same effect. If not, then this is a much cheaper alternative.

My husband grew a beard over the winter months and it became difficult to maintain so I bought it as a Christmas present. After using his gift, I noticed that the tool tends to get hot and burn your hand unless you're wearing the gloves that came with it. Husband loves to use it! Reduces grooming time and he uses it on his hair too. Luckily we ladies can use it too!
