High quality toned paper!

I like that there is tinted paper, it works great with white and black charcoal. It really brings out different tones that are not possible with regular white paper. Page quality is excellent. Sometimes I use a grid system and have to erase the grids which ruins the paper unless it's a good quality heavy product. This size is also great for travel if you want to paint.

This paper exceeded my expectations

I never thought that a different quality of paper could make such a difference. I haven't worked for a long time and just started again. So it's been a while and I've bought different types of paper and so far this is my favorite. I've noticed that with all the types of colored pencils I have at the moment, this paper allows the colored pencils to fall smoothly, plus I can erase almost anything I draw on paper except black. Normally, racing on other types of paper with teeth is very difficult…

Thin paper, great for trying out new media

At $7.50, this isn't a price I regret. This book is small but if you're a practicing artist it would be nice to have 50 sheets so you know you're allowed to make mistakes and it won't cost you an arm and a leg even though the pages are pretty thin. I have no issues with my pencil hardness showing on the next page if I press too hard, but it's a very brittle piece of paper, it's not cardstock at all, so bear in mind I've also noticed some inconsistencies since the texture only goes when i make…

Not as described

I got this sketchbook because I've been getting Strathmore stuff for years. Judging by the reviews and description, this is a medium weight paper suitable for charcoal (which is why I bought it). When I looked at this paper I really didn't think it lived up to the description. That's barely average weight and there's practically no tooth. Why is it recommended for charcoal if there is no tooth? Anyway I like the size and gray paper is my favorite when working with charcoal. I only got it for…

Very thick, great paper!

For the first time I used gray paper. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it and if there would be a learning curve, but wow! I love this paper! It has enough texture but not too much. I press pretty hard when I draw and I haven't managed to indent the pages underneath at all. The paper is definitely thick enough to paint on both sides, although I prefer to use just one side. I can say that I will be using these sketchbooks for a long time. I just really love the colour. I used it with white…

Good for sketching/pencil drawing in leisure time

Has a slightly warm almost French gray tone, if you use Prismacolor pencils it is about "30% French Grey". in tone - there are a few traces of grain where the stained paper has picked up a little more color than expected leaving small smudges on every other page that look like errant pencil marks, but nothing disturbs the texture of the paper. or the ability to pick up color from pencils (whether graphite or crayons), although I will say alcohol markers don't show up their normal color on this…
