Studpop® 100480 SP Studpop Magnetic Finder Review

It really works. It takes a bit of fiddling to figure out how it works, but I set up my TV with one of these and it's been enough time to make sure my TV doesn't fall off. A word of warning I have white walls and rubbing the underside along the wall left marks, cover with a paper towel to avoid leaving marks on the wall.

I can't believe it. We live in an old house from 1919 with plastered and turned walls. Finding studs has always been a problem. None of the electronic spike finders work. Or none of the ones I bought anyway. I saw this at Revain and thought I'd risk it at that price point. This thing is TAAAAAAO simple and easy to use. As soon as I took it out of the box I found studs all over the house. It's cool, buy it.

The idea of this sounded good and it was cheap so I bought it. And it works as described, but the magnet is so weak that the pin can only be found directly above the nail. Move it half an inch in any direction and it will disappear. Electronic spike finders are notorious for being sloppy, but at least you can make a run through anywhere on the wall and expect to find a spike.
