Garmin made a mistake in the design of this flimsy stand. I'm surprised our original lasted 4 years before breaking. We only bought this replacement so we could give our old Garmin to a friend for her to use. This replacement appears to be made from the original mold with a poorly designed bottom brace. This new stand arrived a week and a half after I ordered it and I think it's worth the price.

Do not buy this under any circumstances. It wasn't worth the supposed deal I got. Unfortunately mine broke within minutes (maybe seconds) of mounting it on the ball socket and snapping the GPS unit onto it. The seller offered a replacement but I have already declined. The return shipping wasn't worth it. This rating should not affect the seller; As mentioned above, the seller offered to replace it, but I already threw "piece of c%@p" in the bin.

Mount stand is perfect for my Nuvi 255W. The sphere configuration is slightly different than what came with the GPS, but as far as I can see that makes no difference. Firm enough to hold the Nuvi in place while in use. I think it's a bit pricey for a stamped piece of plastic, but it won't break the bank and gives me the confidence to have a backup in case the original is lost and I can't use the 255. I'm not judging the price but the item and it does its job well. Just as good as the original.

The Garmin Nuvi stand fits my Garmin perfectly but is sold separately from the dash mount I bought. The smooth dash ball hook is also very difficult to insert into the bracket. It attaches to the tripod socket, which is a piece of plastic that sticks out from the left side of the image. I attached it by placing a folded washcloth where the Garmin would snap and applying extreme force directly to the center, preventing the clips on the sides from snapping off.
