My son has worn this on our many trips to Utah and it has protected it from sunburn. I would recommend it although wish it was in more neutral tones. On the one hand, he was easily recognizable, but he said the colors made him feel stupid.

We love this hat. Our baby wears it. The colors are very pretty and look great in the pictures. We'll probably never take the scarf off, but the clasps are strong so it wasn't a problem that it wasn't permanently attached to the hat.
