Description of 🧡 1,090 Yard Mini Cone of Superior Threads Kimono Silk Filament Sewing Thread in (#374 Mikimoto)

THREAD CONE: Features one 1,090 yard cone of 2-ply filament silk thread. 100% SILK: Superior Threads Kimono Silk is a very fine silk thread perfect for fine detail quilting and adding a lustrous sheen to your projects. VERY FINE: This silk thread is a premium multi-filament silk that is so fine it seems to disappear into fabric, hiding stitches and allowing the fabric to lie flat. VARIETY OF COLORS: This beautiful thread is available in an array of appealing colors. GREAT FOR CRAFTING: Kimono Silk thread cones are ideal for hand applique, invisible machine applique, lacework, and fine quilting and sewing projects.

strong and silky for yarn and floss

Ideal for machine work or needlework. I sew a lot of silk shirts and make silk blinds and will never go back to polyester thread. Also arrived very quickly.

Pros
  • special offer
Cons
  • unreliable

Not for sergers: Thread & Floss

I bought this thread to use in the serger to overcast thin silk scarves. Didn't work at all. The looper threads break. It works fine on my lockstitch machine.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Thin

Disappointed with the tensile strength of the thread

I was expecting more strength from this silk thread used for applique but it snapped easily when I pulled on it. I would not recommend it for quilting as it is unlikely to withstand prolonged wear and tear.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • disappears

Worth every cent when sewing

I'm ready to tell you how much I love this. I am not sponsored and neither is this review, I just love this brand. If you have never used kimono silk sewing thread I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is stronger than cotton or polyester thread (standard 50 weight), although this 100 weight thread is much thinner. In addition, it sews well, does not snag, generates virtually no lint and is much less knotted than standard cotton or polyfilament. However, when hand sewing, I would recommend…

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
