I tested it with a known good portable vacuum tester and another proven vacuum gauge. When 25 inches of mercury is applied to a new gauge, it only reads up to 15 inches of mercury. The new pressure gauge is defective.

In general everything is fine. It doesn't always go back to zero when the car is turned off. Click on it and it works. Lighting is BRIGHT! Really too bright. Apart from these two minor things, it works well.

I think the bad reviews are from improper installation. I replaced the automotive grade hose in place of the thin vinyl hose that came with it, which I thought would rupture when engine heat was applied.

It is so bright at night that driving a car is dangerous due to the strong glare. I need to cover it so I can ride with it in the door pillar at night. The others didn't have much time to use it, but it doesn't respond quickly.

The gauge did not give a true reading and the vacuum lines did not match the gauge. I had to buy a higher quality @ Revain gauge to test my vacuum. It was a waste of money, now they're in my trash.

I use one of these to maximize the mileage of my van. The longer you hold the needle in a 15-30 inch vacuum, the better your mileage. I can get 2mpg by using this to balance the speed/tachometer/gauge readings. Sits on the dashboard in a case that I also got from Revain. This sensor is a little sticky in its movement though, so it's not super accurate, but you get a really good idea of what's going on.
