This scratching post is neat! Not too high, but not too low either. It's stable and my cat likes to jump between the tree and other structures like nightstand, bed, window. The sides are taken for scratches. Therefore, siding cannot last very long. But I think it's ok. She loves to play around him and stay on top. Setup should be easy. Easy to understand instructions. Pretty durable. I don't like the dangling float position. Protective covers Barely suitable. Had to close a few times in a few days. The top cover was stitched oddly and barely fitted and was also a little crooked. My 2 cats are quite large and barely fit. No scratching post for big cats. Nice to look at, easy to put together, perch big enough for my 12lb cat. He's strong, but my cat always goes to his old one, probably because he's bigger.
