Husband loves it - it shows readings from the RV (or home if parked at home)

Husband loves this device. This will give him readings in the RV or house (if he's parked at home) so he can see the data without going outside (was really useful in the rain last week). It had a small setup issue, but a quick call to tech support got it up and running within minutes. Worth the money and would buy again.

Excellent energy management

We use this device for energy management in our motorhome. What we didn't know before, we now know. We can safely turn on appliances, cook and wash, knowing we're not overloading the system. Plus he showed us where the surge protector saved us and why. Low voltage or over voltage. Now we know how this device records events and we can view them at the touch of a button. This device should be standard on all campers and RVs.

Pros
  • Robust workmanship

  • There are nuances

2 out of 3 batteries could not be connected: DEFEKT

The battery compartment could not be properly filled with the required 3 AAA batteries because the spring clips were mounted incorrectly: The first position of the battery DOES NOT HAVE A SPRING CONNECTION where it should be supposed to, I had one so it was too loose so the battery couldn't be connected to the terminal; The third position HAS 2 TERMINALS where ONLY ONE should be, so the battery will not fit in that position. Terrible experience trying to get a refund from the seller.

Easy to set up and portable.

This monitor plugged right in, I hooked up my Progressive Surge Guard 50 amp #34951 to my stand I have at home, it showed it was fine, my 43ft-5 . to connect the wheel inside. Then I removed the battery cover from the Southwire #40301 monitor and put 3 AA batteries in and it connected perfectly, it shows me how many amps I'm drawing on L1 and L2 of a 50 amp service. This is a very handy device that allows me to check the mains connection and power consumption of the amp right from my RV without

This looks crappy compared to a high-end surge protector.

I really like the surge protector, especially the top model 34951 which seems to be of high quality. However, this display looks like it was made in a different factory. The screen has terrible viewing angles and the quality reminds me of early LCDs from the 1990's. You have to be right in front of it to read it. The keys feel cheap. I really despise having to find a mini screwdriver to remove the battery cover and the pairing process isn't as smooth as it could be. It also only stores four…

Wi-Fi can interfere with Bluetooth pairing

Thickness (Width): Turns out it was packaged the wrong size in Honduras, which wasn't even closed yet. Not a big deal, but at one point I planned to return it and was afraid that the fact that it wouldn't even fit in the original packaging would become a problem. Installation and setup? It wasn't originally synced to my 30A Surge Guard model 34931 so I wanted to return it. Took out the batteries and held the buttons down for 15 seconds to drain any remaining charges and tried again. Still no…

Works fine good for power strips and surge protectors

update. 06/25/21. The last figure shows Amps and kW when using the air conditioner and converter in floating mode. This is a great help when using shore power. I highly recommend it with its surge protection. I just want access from my smartphone. After reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive about ordering. However, the recoil is so easy that I decided to give it a try. I followed the instructions provided and followed them to the letter. Currently I was surprised when it…

Possible solution/suggestion to help with pairing frustration

Like many others, I watched the pairing video and read the pairing instructions many times. I've tried to tie it on several trips to no avail (while family waited patiently for food lol). I accidentally found a possible trick to combine them which might reduce the frustration and time. Per the instructions in the manual, start with the surge protector connected but the circuit breaker turned off. Press and hold the two right buttons on the display and continue to hold both, then insert the last
