Doesn't fit without modification

The idea was good, but the implementation wasn't enough. Without adjustment, the bar will not reach the trap. We had to sand it almost to the tip of the frog before it connected. I wish I had read better reviews because if I had known I would not have bought it. I do NOT recommend this

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are problems

doesn't quite fit without some modifications

I really like the durability of this product, it's definitely not plastic junk like so many on the market. If you want to buy this, please be prepared to make some changes to this item to make it work better. First and foremost it is made of steel and not plastic waste. To do this, you need to bend your arm a little so that it smoothly enters the reception area. After this change, it's amazing.

Much better than the one I replaced

Van doors open and close quick and hard in the Kansas wind. The wind broke 2 factory door brackets on my five wheel trailer. I was so happy to get the stainless steel T bar entry door holder because they look good and work well. The print and the screws do not match as they are slightly larger than the holders. Simply line up the new ones with the old template holder, drill new screw holes, apply some sealant to the old holes and under the new template holder. Looks great and works! No more…

  • Delivery was very quick

Very durable and beautiful design

I used it to replace a cheap plastic that broke after 5 years in our motorhome. Stainless steel is said to be stronger and more resilient than plastic, which breaks down with heat and sunlight. There are no instructions so I would recommend fitting the door panel and using silicone sealant to keep rain and water out of the screw holes. Then align the other piece to the RV wall. I used a level to make sure the parts are flat and level. I marked where the part and screw holes were and then…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

It was better to roll sideways.

There are no instructions so I had to think about it a bit. I originally had it vertical and it wouldn't work unless you flex the rod, which I didn't want to do. After some thought, I tried turning it on its side. Try the male end on the van and the female end on the door. This would cause the door to open too wide and hit my arm behind the canopy. After installing it with a plug on the door, everything worked fine. One concern is that it might be too strong, if someone tries to force the door…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

I had to custom grind to make it work

Normally I would give this device one star (because the design is VERY poorly thought out). I gave two stars because the workmanship is pretty good. But the design is TERRIBLE and would be completely useless to me if I wasn't a DIYer with tools (like a grinder). The device is designed so that the tongue (attached to the RV wall) fits perfectly with the receiver (on the RV door) at a perfect right angle. This means that the front of the van wall must be perfectly parallel to the front of the van

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
